Dear Board,
As per our conversation a couple of months ago, I am honored to become an honoree for the Queens Symphony Orchestra Gala, acknowledging my contributions to the music education world. More importantly, the idea of having a Gala is not only to attract people who can contribute financially, but to create faithful and steady followers by educating them on why music is so important in our lives.
For these same reasons, I suggest the following idea: I propose to present an interactive family concert with my program Musical Aurora® and the orchestra in the 2019-2020 Family Concert Season. This will help start building a relationship with the families in my community, as well as potentially participating and contributing to the QSO Gala and mission.
In order to understand Musical Aurora®, I have put together a small presentation.
WHAT IS MUSICAL AURORA?
Musical Aurora® is Belle Arti Center for the Arts signature music introduction program for children between the ages two to five. I developed this program in the early 2000’s to make music more accessible at an earlier age. After 12 successful, productive years, Musical Aurora® has proven to be the best transition between a “Mommy and Me”class and starting to learn and instrument. Indeed, most of the students at Belle Arti Center for the Arts started with the Musical Aurora® class when they were 2, 3, 4, and 5 and now, 12 years later, are in high school. Even better, those students have been accepted to performing arts high schools such as La Guardia and Frank Sinatra, as well as specialized high schools like Stuyvesant, Bronx Science High School and the pre-college divisions at Manhattan School of Music, Mannes School of Music and Julliard Music School, plus several private schools and private high schools.

THE IDEA
The idea is to create an interactive Family concert that can cater not only to the families of young ones but also reach the Latino community by using a Latino repertoire which Martin, our conductor, is very well aware of.
MARKETING THE CONCERT
The Latino angle and our Musical Aurora® program will help attract Lynda Baquero’ s attention and interest since she has been following our work at Belle Arti Center for the Arts from the time we opened our doors 12 years ago. Perhaps she can invite us to participate in her NBC-TV program.
In addition, I will put to work our marketing tools that we have already in place to promote the concert so QSO can take advantage of our already faithful followers.
MUSICAL AURORA® PERFORMANCE VIDEO
To have an idea of what our little ones do in our end of the semester recitals, please click on the Video above.
I hope this idea can be a fresh take on the QSO Family concerts series that can be replicated in other ways. Please let me know as soon as possible if this idea has been accepted by the board so we can work on the possible dates and details. In order to put together this program and prepare my kids for the concert, I have to start organizing everything now. Perhaps I can meet with all of you on the next board meeting.
Looking forward to hearing from you!
Respectfully,
Claudette
