Norma Varga studied with Madame Isolde Menges at the Royal College of Music, London, making her debut on British television at the age of fourteen. Awarded scholarship and exhibitions through her studies, she won the Premier Prix of the College for a performance of the Sibelius Violin Concerto. Critical acclaim from her debut recital at Wigmore Hall other concerts, recitals and broadcasts in Great Britain brought an invitation to teach at the Royal College several months before she graduated with a Master’s degree.

Her students at the College, themselves scholarship and prize winners, have become respected musicians in their own right. Most still play with major symphony orchestras in Europe. After her marriage to concert violinist, Ruben Varga, she moved to the United States. Performances on the East Coast include recitals at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall and on live radio. Invited to teach at the Harlem School of the Arts, she spent a year at the school before transferring to the Music Department of the New York Association for the Blind (Lighthouse). Currently, she is a member of the faculties of “Belle Arti” Center for the Arts and the Bloomingdale School of Music.

Ms. Varga’s students have won international competitions and perform extensively throughout the world.
